The game from the start was going to be tough, after losing to Shepton 5-0 the last time we played them in September! Knowing this we had to out with a determined and serious mind set. It was a long drive to their pitch – well done everyone for finding it and HUGE thanks to Chris for umpiring so far from home! Our ladies started in top gear after an (unusual) musical warm up involving Beyonce and Pharrell WIlliams and Sophie showing off her finest dance moves! We were ready to go!!! Emma had a solid pitch plan as our captain whilst Sue was away. Early on, it was against the run of play when Shepton charged into the D and slotted in at the near post.

But then it was all Knowle, the ball got into the opposition D so often but we just couldn’t find a killer finish. A superb run by Sam,  even being forced wide hammered a shot across the keeper,  catch the post – boo!  But it didn’t take her long to find the target afterwards and we were 1-1.

Knowle’s fantastic pressure continue until half time, but we never quite found the second goal. T

he second half was really well balanced with several wonderful crosses by our wingers over the p-spot but to no avail. The opposition managed some weaving runs into our D,  but thankfully some great defence along with super saver Rach kept them out. And there it finishes at one all – Knowle truly played as a team! One all is a good result for a game between two sides adjacent in the league.

Man of the match: Emma – Well done our captain!

Slide of the match award (with so many contestants its a difficult choice) goes to…Sarah! Without help from any opposition players she managed to slide her way into this award within only 2 minutes on pitch. Finally…Please send warm up song requests to Sam and make sure your moves are Sophie worthy ready for next Saturday!
