The sun was shining and all was going well until Sue wondered how she was going to play without a stick and Dan, our marvellous umpire, was wondering where he was supposed to look with the prospect of her running around without a skirt on.
Anyway SuperClaire left her sick bed and came flying to the rescue though obviously not before a quick shave.
The match started exactly as planned with us giving away a short corner within the first thirty seconds. Never mind that, with defenders Cuz, Kate, Rachel, Cap’n Sue and Blaa on top form and Lodway’s cunning plan to inject the ball to the 25 yard line, their threat was quickly dealt with.
Saz, Jo, Grace, Cuz, Kelly, Sam, Hope & Chloe passed the ball around beautifully and worked patiently to create their scoring opportunities. I understand that Sam scored four whilst Hope & Chloe scored one each. I’d like to be able to say more but unfortunately from the other end of the pitch, and having not been to Specsavers, I have absolutely no idea who anyone is. Sorry about that.
Oh yes and I’m not going to mention Lodway’s goal. Ahem.
Lodway were a nice opposition and sausage & chips made a good end to an epic day for Knowle – our first day as a three team club. Go Knowle!”
